Representatives for 1,600 small islands from 11 European nations elected Camille Dressler from Eigg island, Scotland, as chairwoman of the European Small Islands Federation (ESIN). She succeeds Bengt Almkvist from Sweden, who is the founder of the organisation and has been the chairman for 15 years. Bengt was warmly thanked for his great work  by the island organisations of ESIN.

The organisation’s vice presidents are Elefterios Kechagioglou (Greece) and John Walsh (Ireland) and Christian Pleijel from Kokar island, Aland, was appointed General Secretary.

A working plan was adopted and it was decided that next years AGM will be held on Orkney (hence the new header on this homepage).

Minutes, protocols and documents to be published here, soon.
