On april April 16-17th a European Conference is organized in Brussels aiming at spreading knowledge and experiences and replicating the lessons learnt on how to reduce the energy consumption of households in islands, including small ones. If an island is interested to develop its own awareness campaign for energy savings in households, then the project partners could make some tools available to the person in charge, provide expertise and give some support.
This is an invitation from e EU project called PROMISE (www.ieepromise.eu) whose aim it is to organize awareness raising campaigns for energy efficiency in households. The pilot islands are Rhodes from Greece, Tenerife from Spain, Iceland and Samso from Denmark.
To make this even more attractive, there is even the possibility to cover the travel expenses of the (few) most committed to implement such a campaign on their island; you just have to express your interest on-line here:
