The tradition of this blog is to use a picture from next year’s annual general meeting as a header. In 2015, it was a picture from Kastelorizo, in 2014 from Sant’Antiocco, in 2013 from Kökar, in 2012 from Mull, and so on. Next year’s AGM is in in Brussels, so what you see is a map of Brussels.
We know there are no islands in Brussels, but before the Senne river was covered in the 1871, making place for the construction of public buildings and major boulevards, there were two small islands: Petite Île (Little Island) and Saint-Géry Island, just next to the Grand’ Place as you can see from Joseph Meyers beautiful map of 1860.
