Hi all.
As you have seen, ESIN has been put on a conference programme on transportation, June 28th in Brussels, arranged by MEP Mr Nikos Chrysogelos.
Even with this short notice we seem to manage to be there. Christian Pleijel has convinced his employer (a large consultancy firm) to finance both time and travel to the conference. If everything works out Christian will give a short contribution with a case study from transportation on the Åland islands.
Also Eleftherios Kechagioglou will go to the conference. Hopefully many more people will know about ESIN and our issues after the 28th.
Best regards from
Bengt
Two comments:
a) The Parliament will pay my travel, my company (Vectura) pays my time
b) I will put together a draft and send it to you for comments. I have 15 minutes so I think it will be: what is ESIN, some overall perspectives on our transport solutions including needs, costs, emissions and different solutions, and then a case study from Aland since our traffic system is about to go through a major change.
This sounds very comprehensive. One issue here in Scotland is the need for the island transport fleet ( Caledonian MacBrayne) to reduce its carbon footprint which is large. How is this going to affect the islanders in terms of quality of service?
